Derby City Council is a unitary council which means it provides all local government services within the city boundaries. How it works

 

Shredall have recently started data and document destruction on their new on-site vehicle on a weekly basis. Shredall’s operatives’ porter the waste to their brand new mobile document shredder, which has a shredding output of 2000kgs per hour onsite for witnessed shredding at their customer’s doors. This new 18 tonne MDS mobile shredding machine is the most up to date onsite shredding machine in Europe made from light weight aluminium rather than the cast iron machinery of old.

 

The new mobile shredder is more cost effective and environmentally friendly; it operates on less power than previous machines and it will greatly reduce emissions and electricity costs, falling in line with Shredall’s ISO14000 environmental commitments.

 

The new onsite shredder conforms to EN 15713 shred sizes and Shredall’s industry standard NAID AAA Codes of Practices, also having soft start motor configurations and magic eyes that stop the machine from reversing, assisting the reduction of emissions and electricity to half that of the companies previous machinery.

Once all confidential waste is shredded and baled, Derby City Council is charged a fixed price per cabinet and service visit based on their data being destroyed once a week.

 

Their per-cabinet cost will remain the same unless Shredall are required to do any ad-hoc clearouts on behalf of the council. This solution not only saves Derby City Council time and money but it allows them to rest easy that confidential documents are securely destroyed and do not end up in the hands of an identity thief.
