SDS Rise High
Shredall Data Storage the Document Security People offer safe and secure document storage for business, legal and financial services records in their state of the art archive facilities across the UK.
SDS have recently increased their specialist underground data storage facilities by double the amount, it now provides 51 thousand feet of high quality, secure, storage space.
Ben Wood, SDS Manager comments “We recently won a large contract which involves storing 30,000 boxes for a national law firm. This involves storing documents in one entire basement alone, which means we have had to build new racking.”
BS5454 is the British Standard for the preservation of archival material. Amongst other things, it specifies temperature and humidity ranges for document storage, shelving schemes, and materials for document containers.
SDS are environment compliant with BS5454, and with this in mind SDS have upgraded their humidifier which had initially been installed in the vault. This can maintain the same temperature and humidity throughout all seasons, so temperature will be constant and back up tapes will not get damaged.
BS5454 also states that electronic lighting should be switched off when not in use and positioned at least 50cm above shelving to avoid localised heating and drying of documents. SDS have recently installed new eco friendly lighting throughout the warehouse and vault. Each racking isle has been fitted with a heat sensor which means the lights only turn on when employees use a specific isle in the warehouse.
Lucy Williams, SDS Director quoted, “This is a busy month for SDS and we are very excited about what the future holds!”
SDS recognise that each of their customers are different and they are happy to create a tailor made secure document storage solution to suit you.
