Shredall (SDS) paddle deep
Shredall’s Operations Assistant Ashley Monkman has once again rallied up his colleagues to take part in the charity Dragon Boat Race event at The Embankment, Nottingham.
The Dragon Boat Challenge takes place on Sunday 7th August 2011 and Shredall are expected to battle out up to 50 crews over the 200m race course on the River Trent watched by thousands of spectators.
Last year tension rose as Shredall took to the water to compete against other local companies, each team enters 10 Rowers and 1 Drummer to race down the river. The competitive nature of some staff took over and Shredall managed a reasonable finish in 54 seconds. Unfortunately, we were knocked out in the Semi Final, (possibly due to the lack of drumming rhythm supplied by SDS’s Director, Lucy!) however we finished 5th out of 36 team’s overall.
Shredall (SDS) are ready and rearing for this years challenge and more importantly want to raise as much money as possible for Rainbow’s Children’s Hospice.

As any parent will tell you, to look into the eyes of a sick child is a deeply moving experience. To know your child has a limited life must be the greatest human challenge any of us could imagine. If a family ever has to cope with this, Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People will be there for them.
Rainbows are the only children's hospice in the East Midlands and cares for over 220 local children and their families every year. An incredible team helps to control symptoms, improve quality of life and provide end of life care. To provide such a high level of expertise and professional care costs
£3.8 million a year. Rainbows gets less than 15% of its funding from the government and therefore relies almost solely on the generosity of members of the public, fundraising events and sponsorship.
Please join Shredall (SDS) at the Riverside for one of Nottingham’s largest family events - a bustling fair and vibrant mix of music, dance, crafts and food from around the world.
