Business Across Borders Conference, Geneva

Shredall and SDS have recently attended the European conference of the global trade association PRISM (Professional Records and Information Services Management).

This year's ‘Business Across Borders' conference was held in Geneva Switzerland and was SDS's and Shredall's 5th conference with the trade association, being keen to keep a breast of all new and breaking trends within the industry.

Along with an excellent Trade Expo exhibiting all the latest facilities for racking, storage and software, PRISM offered many new ideas for related services for the industry. The Association also put together an array of trade seminars.

This year the emphasis was on the problems caused by the recent fires at the Iron Mountain storage centres in London and Canada. Seminars were held by world safety expert Larry Varn and speakers representing the London Fire Brigade.

Attention was also given to the recent Basel II agreement between European Banks and the outsourcing of Record and Data Storage.

The trade delegation was also invited to tour one of Europe’s oldest and most established record management companies based in Geneva and Lucerne where many ideas were exchanged between delegates.

Should you require further information on any of the subjects raised in this article please do not hesitate to contact Shredall on 0800 393178. or visit the PRISM website at www.prismintl.org .
