Hundreds of thousands of elderly people spend Christmas alone each and every year, not talking to a single soul unless people give them a call or invite them round to theirs, which can often lead to depression, anxiety and loneliness.
Here at Shredall SDS Group we believe that nobody should be forgotten about at Christmas. So this year we have decided to reignite the Christmas spirit at our head office local community care home.
The idea is small but the impact can be huge, everybody in the company has bought a present for a resident this Christmas and to show them how much we appreciate the contribution they have made to the community we work and live in.
On the 15th December, Shredall SDS Group will be descending on Eden Lodge care home in Bestwood village along with a choir, mince pies and perhaps some sherry to bring a smile, a laugh and of course Santa will be in attendance too.
So, come on…Everyone can make a difference - simply checking in on an older neighbour regularly, popping a card through their door or having a chat with an older person at the shops, it only takes a moment and can make a real difference.
