GDPR & Confidential Waste

Shredall SDS Group lead the market using innovative solutions, standards of control and incorporating the very best advancements in shredding and achieve storage technology.

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) strengthens the protection and empowerment of EU citizens’ data privacy. It is therefore imperative that businesses ensure secure data management processes that comply with the requirements.

These requirements include the right for individuals to request the deletion of their personal data in a timely manner, in addition to businesses demonstrating compliance with the GDPR. Many companies are looking for secure ways of disposing confidential waste, such as paper documents or electrical and electronic equipment such as hard drives. Nevertheless, the average in-house shredder only produces strips which can be easily put back together. It also cannot deal with digital information stored on hard drives, which needs to be degaussed by passing it through a powerful magnetic field or destroyed into a government-approved degree. Finally, it may be difficult and time-consuming to transport the confidential waste to a site where it can be securely disposed of.

Confidential Off-site Shredding

Shredall offers a secure off-site shredding service:

You arrange when you'd like us to collect your confidential waste. We can organise a schedule for regular collections, or simply visit as and when you need us. Our fully trained operatives scan the barcodes on each receptacle, providing an audit trail that continues until the final invoice. They transfer the waste to our custom-built vehicle, where it's securely locked in the rear.

Confidential waste is transported to one of our state-of-the-art depots. All paper is shredded within 24 hours at our premises. Each of our market leading, cross cut, industrial shredders have capability to shred over 100 tonnes per day.

Once all materials have been destroyed, we'll issue a Certificate of Destruction. This is a minimum requirement for anyone disposing of confidential waste and should be held on file for six years. This is needed to comply with the GDPR confidential waste requirements.

The shredded waste is baled and collected for recycling.

All of the above is carried out as per BS EN 15713 or equivalent.
