Shredall SDS Group Continues Its Commitment to Local Charities This Christmas

Shredall SDS Group Continues Its Commitment to Local Charities This Christmas

Shredall SDS Group is proud to continue its long-standing commitment to supporting local charities this Christmas. This year, the team is working closely with Nottingham Hospitals Charity, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, The Gedling Memory Café, Emmanuel House, Rainbows Hospice and Pennywell Pantry to raise vital funds and spread festive cheer.

Supporting The Gedling Memory Café Once Again

For another year, Shredall SDS Group is supporting The Gedling Memory Café with a £1,000 donation. The funds will help cover accommodation costs at The Good Shepherd RC Church Hall, which now supports up to 35 clients and their carers. The café provides guidance for those living with dementia, fun activities in a friendly atmosphere, and a welcoming space where carers can relax with free refreshments and support.

Marketing Manager, Charlotte, visited the café’s Christmas party this week to see the impact firsthand.

Charlotte commented:

“Coming here this week was even more special as I brought along my 92-year-old grandma who has dementia. The Gedling Memory Café is such a friendly and welcoming place for anyone with dementia and their carers to gain practical information, emotional support or simply enjoy a fun, sociable time together. We sang Christmas songs, played party games and had lots of fun. It is so important to keep charity-run schemes like this going – they really help so many people.”

Rainbows Hospice: Always Close to Our Hearts

Rainbows Hospice continues to hold a special place within Shredall SDS Group. As proud members of the Rainbows Business Club, the company donates throughout the year. This month, Managing Director Nick Williams visited the hospice in Loughborough to meet the incredible team, discuss opportunities for future volunteering and deliver festive treats for the children.

Rainbows Hospice provides palliative and end-of-life care, emergency stays, symptom management and respite breaks. Its specialist facilities include sensory, music and play therapy rooms, physiotherapy suites, adapted bedrooms and a hydrotherapy pool.

Nick commented:

“Visiting Rainbows is always a humbling experience. The warmth, dedication and care shown by the team is truly inspiring. We are committed to continuing our support and helping in any way we can – not just at Christmas, but throughout the year.”

Helping Bring Joy to Birmingham Children’s Hospital

This Christmas, Shredall SDS Group has proudly donated to the Celebration Toy Fund at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Time spent in hospital can be difficult for any child, especially during major celebrations such as Christmas, Diwali or Eid.

The fund allows the hospital’s Play Facilitators to purchase toys and games from a specially curated list, ensuring every young patient – regardless of age – receives a gift during their stay.

Bringing Magic to Nottingham Hospitals Charity’s Christmas Grotto

For another year, Shredall SDS Group has donated selection boxes and festive goodies to Nottingham Hospitals Charity’s magical Christmas grotto. The snowy, gift-filled grotto brings excitement and joy to children spending Christmas in hospital, giving them the chance to meet Santa and experience some festive magic.

This initiative supports Nottingham Hospitals Charity and its Big Appeal, which helps transform facilities and patient care across Nottingham’s hospitals.

Supporting Emmanuel House in Nottingham

Shredall SDS Group has also provided a donation to Emmanuel House, with team members returning to volunteer in the breakfast kitchen in the New Year. Emmanuel House supports people who are homeless, rough sleeping or experiencing crisis.

With many of its service users facing the harsh reality of sleeping rough this Christmas, the donation will help provide food and support during the festive period.

Continuing Support for Pennywell Pantry, Edinburgh

In Edinburgh, Shredall SDS Group continues to support Pennywell Pantry, which helps low-income families and individuals access essential food and household items.

Operating on a weekly subscription of £4.50 per family, the Pantry enables members to access between £15–£30 worth of goods — a vital lifeline during the cost-of-living crisis.

Charlotte, Marketing Manager, said:

“During a time when the cost of living continues to rise at an unprecedented rate, many of those relying on the Pennywell Pantry are already experiencing — or at serious risk of — food poverty. The Pantry is continually in need of donations, including food, toiletries, cleaning products and other essential household items. Being able to provide the essentials donated today is truly invaluable.”

She added:

“Wherever our team operates, we strive to leave a positive footprint in the communities around us. Visiting the charities we support has really brought into focus the challenges faced by local communities, hospitals and hospices. By donating what we can, we’re proud to play our part in making a meaningful difference.”

How You Can Help This Christmas

Hospitals and charities don’t stop over Christmas, and neither does the need for support. Anyone can help make a difference this festive season by donating, fundraising, volunteering or supporting the appeals run by these incredible organisations.

Shredall SDS Group is proud to stand alongside these charities and remains committed to supporting the communities we serve—this Christmas and beyond.
