Shredall SDS Group Celebrates 29 Years of Innovation, Growth & Community Impact

Shredall SDS Group proudly marks its 29th year in business this month—nearly three decades of secure information management, sustainable recycling, and nationwide service expansion.

The past 12 months have been among the most exciting in the Group’s history, with major investments across document management, scanning, storage, secure destruction, compliance, sales infrastructure and social responsibility.

In 2025–26, the Group strengthened its industry-leading accreditations, delivered significant operational growth, expanded its team and national reach, and continued longstanding commitments to local and international community initiatives. The business achieved a strong growth rate of 26.7%, reflecting both market confidence and the team’s relentless drive for excellence.

Strengthening Communities Nationwide

Corporate social responsibility remains at the heart of Shredall SDS Group.

This year, the team continued volunteering efforts at Emmanuel House, supporting vulnerable people across Nottingham. Group Director Lucy Shipley once again took part in the CEO Sleepout, raising over £1,750 for homelessness charities.

Alongside this, the Group continued donations to Nottingham City Hospitals, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and The Pennywell Pantry in Edinburgh, which supports households with access to essential food and goods.

For another year, the Group proudly supported The Gedling Memory Café with a £1,000 donation—helping fund accommodation and activities for up to 50 clients and carers. The café provides guidance, a safe space for those living with dementia, and vital respite for carers.

Rainbows Hospice continues to be a charity close to the Group’s heart. As members of the Rainbows Business Club, Shredall SDS Group contributed throughout the year to help support children, young people and families across the region.

Recognising Excellence in Customer Service & Compliance

2025 was a standout year for customer service achievements. The Group was awarded its fifth consecutive Feefo award, a testament to consistently excellent customer experiences.

Shredall SDS Group was also shortlisted in two major categories at the Document Manager Awards 2025One to Watch: Company of the Year and Compliance Company of the Year. The team went on to win the Compliance Company of the Year award.

Group Managing Director Nick Williams commented:
“Winning Compliance Company of the Year is a proud moment for us. It reflects the dedication and expertise of our compliance department, who work tirelessly to uphold the highest standards for our clients.”

These achievements are reinforced by full accreditation across ISO 9001, 14001, 27001, 45001, BS EN 15713, and PAS 2060 carbon neutrality—cementing the Group’s position as a leader in secure, compliant and sustainable operations.

Operational Growth Across Scanning, Storage & Destruction

The past year delivered strong performance across all divisions:

  • Document Storage: Hybrid and indexing projects rose by 26%, legacy media storage doubled, confidential box storage increased by 120,000 boxes, and data tape storage grew 34%.

  • Document Scanning: Over 15 million documents digitised, with a new state‑of‑the‑art scanning bureau asset purchase in Leeds, set to boost output to 24 million in 2026.

  • IT Asset Destruction: The IT and Media destruction division destroyed over 150,000 hard drives this year, with product destruction increasing by 19%. The Group anticipates this to double in 2026 with the arrival of a new high-grade onsite destruction machine landing this summer.

Lucy Shipley said:
“The purchase of our new scanning bureau in Leeds is a huge step forward for Shredall SDS Group. It strengthens our capacity, supports major national projects and reinforces our reputation as a trusted digital transformation partner.”

Nick Williams continues:
“IT and Media Destruction is rapidly becoming the next major movement in data security. Businesses now recognise that secure, compliant end-of-life IT management is essential, and we’re proud to be leading the way with new technology and stronger capabilities than ever before.”

Sales & Team Expansion Nationwide

The Group has taken a major strategic leap with the support of an external Chief Sales Officer (CSO) and a bold plan to increase revenue by 75% over the next three years.

The sales team has doubled in size, with new hires and the appointment of a new Sales Manager bringing renewed energy to the department. The team has relocated to a new city-centre Nottingham sales office, with four additional six members hired and more currently being recruited.

Head of Sales Ben Shipley commented:
“This is an incredibly exciting time for us. Our client base has grown by 2,426 new customers since last February, and the figures speak for themselves. With our expanded team and the new scanning bureau in sight, the future has never looked brighter.”

Additional growth across the accounts, compliance, operations, and SDS Document Storage teams—along with two new hired apprentices—demonstrates the Group’s commitment to developing talent and supporting future leaders.

Stronger Recycling Through National Partnerships

As part of its ongoing sustainability mission, Shredall SDS Group has partnered with paper collectors and recycling specialists nationwide, increasing recycling output by over 4,000 tonnes annually.

The initiative expands processing capabilities across paper and plastic grades, supporting the Group’s zero-to-landfill commitment and helping clients achieve their own environmental goals.

Group Managing Director Nick Williams shared:
“We’re proud to be one of the few UK companies offering a Total Information Management solution—Scanning, Storage and Shredding. As an independent family-run business, we remain focused on exceptional customer service and sustainable growth.”

Approaching three decades in business, Shredall SDS Group continues to invest in people, technology and sustainability. With new facilities, upgraded services and strong nationwide demand, the Group is poised for its most ambitious year yet.

As Shredall SDS Group celebrates 29 years, the business continues to innovate, grow and evolve—guided by family values, service excellence and a commitment to making a positive impact the Group is stronger than ever and ready for its next chapter.
