Lloyd Williams, the Managing Director behind Shredall/SDS, the pioneering Confidential Document Shredding and Document Storage Company has picked up the Entrepreneur of the Year Award for the way he has developed Shredall/SDS into one of the UK’s largest Shredding and Document Storage specialists.
Seen as the driving force behind the business, he has grown the venture from a standing start to a firm set, to break the £2.5m barrier this year, servicing 5,000 clients across the UK.
Lloyd’s passion for expansion has seen the company continually add to the services it offers. The core areas operated by the Shredall Group include Document Scanning and Storage of Paper documents Deed’s, Probate, and Boxes coupled with Onsite Document Shredding vehicles and static Offsite Shredding and Baling. Shredall shreds and recycles over 3800 tonnes of redundant confidential waste files and papers per annum at their Midlands facility. Clients can now tap into scheduled or ad-hoc secure destruction of paper based documents, media tapes, computer hard drives, microfilm, uniforms and credit cards nationwide.
In 2010, Lloyd invited his daughter and son to join the board and the expanded team has successfully tripled the size of its specialist underground data storage facility in two years.
Lloyd Williams comments, “I literally started my business as the preverbal white van man operating with a rented vehicle from a back bedroom as my office. Today Shredall/SDS works nationwide employing a team of 44 and has a depot in Glasgow with a London sales office. We have worked hard to grow our business; credibility and reputation, as one of the few national operators that are still a privately owned family business.”
He continues, “Whilst I have been a driving force behind the Shredall Groups success, it would not have been possible without the support of my loyal staff. Shredall/SDS are a family run business built on ethics, customer service and passion for what we do – to go home with Entrepreneur of the Year for the East Midlands really does mean everything for someone that has worked so hard for so long to be recognised by business peers.”
The British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) Chamber Awards 2012 is committed to finding the best businesses in Britain through a series of regional heats followed by a National Final, due to be held at London’s Guildhall next month. Lloyd is now in the running to be ‘National Chamber of Commerce Entrepreneur of the Year 2012.’
Now in its 9th year, the competition is one of the showcase events for the ‘Business is Good for Britain’ campaign that highlights the role of business as a positive force for the UK recovery and the success of local communities and individuals.
