Security breaches can be extremely costly for businesses. Whether a security breach is digital or physical, it can have huge repercussions for businesses of all sizes. At Shredall SDS Group, we prioritise the data protection of our customers through secure data destruction services and full GDPR compliance.
Shredall's Data Destruction process
Our process for secure data destruction is made up of 4 steps. Each step is designed to ensure the security of your waste is as tight as possible.
Step 1: Waste collection
The first step in our data destruction process is the collection of your waste. We can provide lockable shredding bins, data consoles and sealable bags before collection to store your sensitive material. For your convenience, we offer both on-site and off-site shredding services. Our DBS-checked and security vetted team will arrive at your premises in our secure vehicles to collect your waste. We are serious about security and ensure that we comply with BS 7858:2012 screening.
Step 2: Waste transfer
Your waste is then transferred to one of our nationwide locations in our MOD-approved vehicles where it is sorted on site.
Step 3: Certification
Once the shredding is complete, we issue the Certificate of Data Destruction and Waste Transfer Note, which includes the weight and details of the collection, so that you have a complete audit trail. These certificates must be kept on file for 6 years.
Step 4: Recycle
The waste is then baled at our depot and sent to a recycling centre to be turned into tissue-based products. We are dedicated to recycling and are proud to recycle 100% of our paper waste. We also offer recycling services to businesses who need that extra bit of help.
What types of items can we shred and destroy?
We shred a whole variety of items that could contain sensitive information. Our data destruction services cover a range of items such as:
-
Product destruction services to get rid of old uniforms, high end products and out of date equipment.
-
IT and media destruction to destroy unwanted IT equipment.
-
Hard drive destruction to prevent sensitive company information from being compromised.
-
Textile shredding to destroy old uniforms.
- Print waste destruction to recycle cardboard, print, and packaging waste.
What is the goal of Secure Data Destruction?
Many businesses have sensitive information that needs destroying. Our goal at Shredall SDS Group is to dispose of this information, whether physical or digital, in the safest and most compliant way possible, while also protecting the environment.
That’s why we ensure every step of our process is secure. We also provide an audit trail to businesses for extra security.
Many businesses across the UK choose us because of our 25+ years experience and the kind words we have received from customers since day one.
What forms does our Data Destruction take?
Secure Onsite Shredding
With our secure onsite shredding service, we can shred your waste directly on your premises. Our processes fully comply with the BS EN15713 Secure Destruction of Confidential Material, the standard specified by the BSIA (British Security Industry Association). This is an important accreditation as it provides a specific framework for businesses to follow, to ensure the secure destruction, and disposal, of confidential material.
Onsite shredding is contained within our mobile shredding vehicles. They have the capacity to shred 3,000kg of paper per hour for a fast and efficient service. The shredded material is cross-cut shredded into an unidentifiable product, in line with the current European standard (EN15713). The destruction process is witnessed by an appropriate person from your company and carried out by our specially trained operative. The shredded waste is then compacted into the rear compartment of the vehicle, locked and transported to our depot, where it will be baled and picked up for recycling.
Secure Offsite Shredding
Off-site shredding is completed at our depot within our secure facilities. Flexibility is important to us, so you can arrange when you’d like us to collect your waste at a time that works for you. We can work out a schedule for regular collections, or simply visit as and when you need us. Documents will be shredded within 24 hours in our state of the art machinery, which is capable of shredding 320 tonnes per day, making it more environmentally friendly and extremely cost effective. Once all materials have been destroyed, we’ll issue a certificate of destruction and the shredded waste is baled and picked up for recycling.
