The Midlands-based police authority sought a robust, all-encompassing solution to securely shred confidential waste across their extensive network of stations and offices. Despite having an existing document management partner, they were dissatisfied with the partner's lack of granular service and customer support.
The solution
Shredall SDS Group's solution began with a thorough audit. One of our account managers visited each police authority location to assess operational needs and determine the optimal number of secure, lockable consoles for the business. Secure, lockable consoles were strategically placed at each location, followed by clear communication to stakeholders about scheduled shredding services. To accommodate unexpected surges in confidential waste, additional shredding sacks were stored in locked cages for easy but secure access.
A weekly shredding service has been implemented, staffed by DBS-checked Shredall SDS Group operatives who securely transported confidential waste from lockable consoles to high-security mobile shredding vehicles, where they’re shredded on-site to ensure complete confidential, high security shredding.
A waste transfer note and certificate of destruction is signed by both parties to maintain a comprehensive compliance audit trail. From there, all of the shredded material is baled and recycled into tissue related products within the UK, ensuring that the business has a circular economy.
The police authority also required additional product destruction services, including the monthly collection of WEEE waste, uniforms, PPE, and media from a centralised location.
