Shredall SDS Group are pleased to announce the continued registration for BS OHSAS 18001:2007 accreditation.
The audit is designed to look to demonstrate our commitment to legislative requirements and health and safety standards.
Shredall SDS Group Compliance Manager Carole comments,
“BS OHSAS 18001:2007 helps us to manage the risk of workplace accidents and ill health, and provides a framework for helping us meet our legal requirements. The Shredall SDS Group are very proud of this certification, held since 2007, and look forward to the challenge of migration to ISO 45001:2017 once published.”
The audit reporter from the NQA assessment team comments “Shredall SDS Group’s management system was fully documented, controlled and considered effectively for the scope of the activities and size of the business. The company has clearly defined responsibilities for Health and Safety Management and has an appointed Management Representative.”
He continues “The internal audit process was seen to be robust and provide assurance that the health and safety management system was effectively implemented and maintained.
Records were available to demonstrate that all employees had the required skills and competence to carry out the assigned duties, considering health and safety risks and opportunities. The team have demonstrated that the business and its staff are health and safety focused and have demonstrated a good level of control.”
Carole concludes “Shredall SDS Group works hard to cascade a culture of individual responsibility for safety down to all employees. We have a continual programme of safety training, awareness and competence, which includes e-learning and classroom-style activities through to practical assessments, toolbox talks and annual review, and our risk assessment process includes views and input from non-management workers.
Currently, we have staff from the Shredall Operations Team attending NEBOSH training and they are coming back to the business with renewed passion and an enhanced sense of ownership for safety matters.
