Shredall SDS Group are delighted to announce participation with Nottingham Children’s Hospital’s Big Appeal launch, in support of their target to raise £1.5 million over the next three years. The funds raised are being dedicated to enhancing the experience of children, from infants to teenagers, receiving care at Nottingham Children’s Hospital.
Nottingham Children’s Hospital mission to help support critically ill children
The Nottingham Children’s Hospital has a mission to elevate the quality of care and support provided to young patients and their families. Each year, over 1,000 individuals grappling with various illnesses are attended to at this vital healthcare institution.
The funds raised through the Big Appeal will contribute to essential improvements at Nottingham Children's Hospital. Notably, a significant amount will be directed towards the Neonatal Redesign initiative, aimed at providing a sense of comfort and familiarity for parents and families. This initiative will introduce homely touches in parent and family accommodation, including creating a welcoming entrance, and incorporating calming decorations throughout the unit to support the mental health of patient families and staff.
The Children's Outpatients will also see a transformation through this initiative. The addition of new sensory rooms specifically designed for children with additional needs, as well as therapeutic play interventions to assist children feeling anxious, and extra clinic rooms to address high demand, are planned to significantly enhance their outpatient experience.
The money raised will also contribute towards the Nottingham Children's Hospital play areas being refreshed, with brand-new indoor and outdoor play equipment, toys, books, and games. This partnership also led to the inclusion of additional specialist roles like nurses and paramedics to cater to the diverse needs of the patients.
How we’re helping the Big Appeal Launch
Shredall SDS Group is committed to giving back to the community, and were eager to help with the Big Appeal Launch! Lucy Shipley (Group Director) and Charlotte Williams (Marketing Manager) recently took part in the Robin Walk through Nottingham’s bustling city centre. The special guest of the Big Appeal walk through Nottingham was none other than Giant Robin, the NHC’s cuddly, tall mascot who delights the children and families on the wards.
By collaborating with Nottingham Children's Hospital, Shredall SDS Group aims to support the hospital in its mission to provide a comforting and nurturing environment for critically ill children undergoing medical treatment.
We were incredibly honoured to have supported NHC in Christmas 2022 by donating to the neonatal ward and contributing to the Christmass tree recycling scheme, and this year we’re even more excited to volunteer our time to support the hospital in the Big Appeal Launch.
