Tonight at 7pm Bestwood Village are holding Automatic External Defibrillator training at St Marks Church.
Last year Shredall helped fund the purchase of an AED machine which is now located at the local shop near to our HQ.
As part of Shredall SDS Group's commitment to the community we wanted to do more for charity locally and nationally.
Community Heartbeat work in association with East Midlands Ambulance Service and local MP Mark Spencer to ensure defibrillators are positioned in the best possible places and Bestwood Village was identified as an area that would benefit from one.
Shredall SDS Group pledged a donation towards the AED and helped towards the final goal of £2000 to purchase, install and run the machine near our headquarters in Bestwood Village, Nottingham.
In the UK alone, figures show that approximately 200 people a day suffer an unexpected Cardiac Arrest. Moreover, a large clinical study showed that for every minute time passes, the chances of survival decrease by 20%, time really is of the essence.
Now Bestwood Village have a defibrillator placed in their village, our local community are being shown how to use it properly, making sure all relevant regulations are met.
