Shredall SDS Group’s ISO Accreditations Continue to Flourish

We’re thrilled to share that our ISO accreditations have continued to flourish throughout the New Year. With this news, our customers can continue to have confidence that Shredall SDS Group meets global quality standards, and are going above and beyond to deliver the highest calibre of service.

Over the last few months, NQA completed an integrated QSHE Surveillance Audit across our nationwide locations with excellent outcomes, and now we’re headed for a recertification audit in spring 2023. Read on to find out more about our long-standing and new accreditations and what they mean.

Why is being ISO accredited so important to us?

Being certified by NQA means that we have been thoroughly audited by an independent 3rd party. This audit demonstrates that our business conforms to the latest quality process standards and are in line with international best practices.

It’s important to us that we’re ISO accredited so we can keep up to date with the latest industry standards and regulations, thus instilling trust with our customers and partners. They can be reassured that Shredall SDS Group is committed to quality and are required to make continuous improvements throughout the business.

And with customer satisfaction at the heart of our activities, we were honoured to hear this report from our NQA QSHE Assessor for Scotland:

“A site visit was undertaken to a client of Shredall SDS Group in Glasgow where confidential waste was being uplifted and shredded… Customer satisfaction was discussed with the client, the client is extremely happy with the service provided by the organisation – “10/10 service provided.”

Our ISO accreditations and what they mean

Shredall SDS Group are proud to hold accreditations that mean we meet the highest standards of compliance for our industry and help us to offer outstanding services. Each separate accreditation has different criteria that need to be met, and ensures that different areas of our business are consistently of a high quality. Let’s have a closer look at what some of our recent ISO accreditations mean.

ISO 9001:2015 - Quality Management

Our ISO 9001 certification demonstrates that we understand and support our customers’ needs and requirements through delivering the highest quality of service at all times. It applies to our range of document management services, from shredding to recycling, and is evidenced through us meeting BS EN 15713:2009 codes of practice, our DBS screening checks (meeting BS 7858:2019) and even our high Feefo rating (4.8/5).

ISO 14001:2015 - Environmental Management

Our ISO 14001 certification demonstrates we’re meeting the international standards of an environmental management system (EMS), illustrating our ongoing commitment to the environment. We achieve this through minimising our environmental impact, for example, through a 100% paper recycling rate, a compliant fleet of vehicles and Net Zero emissions agenda.

ISO 45001 - Occupational Health & Safety Management

Our ISO 45001 certification establishes that we have the systems in place to manage and mitigate health and safety risks across all of our services and activities, offering customers the utmost reassurance. We achieve this through RAMS-based safe services, being a part of the SSiP recognition scheme and many other activities that meet core health and safety compliance requirements.

ISO 27001:2013 - Information Security Management

Our ISO/IEC 27001 certification demonstrates our commitment to the security of the company and customer data. As GDPR and data protection is imperative to businesses and customers alike, having robust physical and network risk assessments in place gives vital reassurance that we’re an audited service provider.

High on our agenda for 2023 is the undertaking of a gap analysis of our information security system, which will ultimately help us to transition to the latest version of ISO 27001:2022. Our NQA assessor for this certification reported:

“Leadership has been effectively demonstrated and commitment levels are evident. This is reflected in the levels of compliance with requirements and operational control evident at the organisation which are appropriate to the risks and opportunities identified.”

PAS 2060:2014 - Carbon Neutrality Verification

Our latest certification PAS 2060:2014 verifies our commitment to sustainable business practices and combating climate change. We’ve achieved carbon neutrality through an independent third party audit from NQA, which assessed our endeavours in offsetting our carbon emissions, such as getting our power through zero carbon, 100% renewable resources.

This is an exciting new accreditation we gained in 2022, as it reassures customers that they’re working with, or choosing a greener organisation, supporting their own carbon neutrality journeys. And with our ongoing verified carbon reduction plan, Shredall SDS group certainly stands out as an innovator in the industry.

NQA’s Principal Assessor, Environment & Energy congratulated us on the accreditation:

“I would like to congratulate Shredall SDS Group for the diligent manner in which the company’s carbon footprint was drawn up and for the commitment to retain this status going forward. It was a pleasure to work with the Shredall SDS Group team on this verification process and as the lead verifier I look forward to working with them again in 2023.”

We’re proud to meet the highest standards in our industry

We’re immensely proud of everything we’ve managed to achieve with regards to our ISO accreditations; 2022 has been incredibly rewarding for our team, especially now that we can definitively say that we’re a carbon neutral company. Compliance Manager and DPO for Shredall SDS Group, Carole Woolhouse comments:

“2022 was a rewarding year for the Compliance Team as we brought Carbon Neutrality Verification into the mix officially. This independent endorsement is two-fold: demonstrating the commitment and direction of the business in terms of sustainability best practice and tackling climate change; and meeting our customers’ requirements in terms of how we can help them with their environmental and social value targets.

With the gold-standard credential, PAS 2060, we are a stand-out SME provider of document management services. With a commitment and plan to reduce our CO2e emissions year-on-year, an exceptional ISO package and a clear notice history with all enforcement agencies, Shredall SDS Group stands out in the field. It is a testament to the whole Group, and the part that all staff play in driving forward continual improvement activities across the business. As Compliance Manager, I’m really looking forward to the ongoing compliance journey in 2023.”
